Paying for medical cannabis in Utah? There’s an app for that

Utah medical marijuana consumers don’t need to rely purely on cash, with Hypur as a payment method, as reported by David Wells and Tamara Vaifanua from Fox 13.

Most credit card companies and financial institutions don’t facilitate business with cannabis dispensaries and pharmacies because the drug remains illegal at the federal level. That means most transactions at cannabis-oriented businesses have been handled with cash payments.

But some Utah cannabis pharmacies are now accepting payments via the “Hypur” app, which is similar to Venmo.
